The Probability and Stochastic Networks group (PNA2) at the Centre for
Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands,
invites applications for a
Postdoctoral fellowship
in spatial statistics.
The successful applicant will work in the project "Segmentation and motion
analysis using polygonal Markov fields" funded by NWO, the Dutch research
council. The position is for an initial period of 18 months with the
possibility of an extension.
The successful applicant should have a PhD in statistics, mathematics or a
related field, be an effective programmer in a high-level language such as C++
(experience with R would be an advantage) and be able to communicate effectively
in English. The successful candidate will also have experience in contributing to
peer-reviewed publications.
The terms of employment are in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement
for Research Institutes. Moreover, CWI offers attractive working conditions, including
help with housing for expat employees. The initial salary is EUR 3,090.
