Call for Papers: Special Issue of “Local Economy” on Land Value Capture
Local Economy is a peer-reviewed journal and brings together academics,
policy analysts, researchers and practitioners concerned with local economic
policies and social justice. Local Economy aims to make academic research
accessible to all working in the broad field of local economic and social
change.
Sage, the publishers of Local Economy (
www.uk.sagepub.com/journals/Journal202011) have commissioned guest editors
from the Professional Land Reform Group (www.plrg.org) to produce a special
issue of the journal during 2012 on the subject of Land Value Capture
(LVC). The PLRG guest editors are Dr Tony Vickers, Dave Wetzel and Heather
Wetzel.
The PLRG guest editors of this special issue see this as an opportunity to
explain the theory of economic rent; what land value capture is; how it can
be implemented and how societies will benefit environmentally, socially and
economically from such a policy.
The area of expertise in relating public transport and using land value
capture to fund it is of particular interest to making this special issue a
challenging, interesting, wide-ranging and informative one.
If you wish to submit an article, it should be up to 4000 words in length
and must be submitted to the Guest Editors at [log in to unmask] by 30
September 2011. In writing about your specialist area, if appropriate your
article might also illustrate, preferably by case studies, how LVC might be
introduced, the benefits to be gained from LVC and examples where
significant use of LVC has resulted in benefits to the environment (built or
natural), to addressing climate change, to help aid local economies
and/or benefit social cohesion and economic justice.
For further information about Local Economy or for information about
manuscript submissions, please visit Sage’s website:

etc to [log in to unmask] only)
We look forward to hearing from you.
