In glite each node type had its own repository and versioning. EMI has gone in the opposite direction, only one repository and no versioning, so the bdii for all services is the same by definition, hence no conflicts. I suppose it's possible that yaim could have a bug that damaged the configuration of a different service, but you'd see that at configuration time, it wouldn't suddenly hit a running service. Also at least in the past sites without VMs have tended to complain about needing separate nodes for every service so I would assume that we still want to support co-located services where possible - or is it now reasonable to expect everyone to use VMs?
