Hi
Just a personal thought but maybe one of the saddle seats maybe helpful.
As someone with a over tilt in L5, which leads to a larger posterior, I find the saddle seats very comfortable as they also help to realign the pelvis (which is often a problem). They also negate the problem of back supports which often are very uncomfortably placed.
They are pricey but I believe some companies will give you one on short loan before purchasing.

Hi Jacqui
I know exactly what you mean as I have encountered it myself. In my
experience the most comfortable chair would be the modern equivalent of the
"old typists" chair, which has a very small and short backrest which can sit
into the upper lumber and lower thoracic areas, thereby leaving plenty of
room below for one's posterior to sit at the back of the seat pan. This is
actually quite comfortable for people with large posteriors, although there
is no upper back support and one hesitates to ask whether there is enough
lower lumbar support. However it was the most comfortable chair I ever used
in my home office and it only got chucked out when it wore out! I had no
back problems while using it.
I hope this helps
Gill

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] big bottom chairs
hi again
I seem to have question after question this week.
Can anyone direct me to a chair which will accomodate a large bottom on a
short lady?
She does not have a wide bottom but one that when seated gives the
appearance of very long thighs as it is "all at the back" as a result she
has the appearance of an over curved lumbar spine, the chair she has has an
adjustable seat pan and even on its furthest forward setting does not offer
good support under the thighs. With the back rest at its highest there is
not enough "gap" to get her bottom into so in effect her "sitting bones"
remain mid seat and the lumbar support is pushing her bottom forward.
I have traweled the catalogues but all seem to have back rests without much
bottom clearance.
The larger frame chairs are not suited as she is a small frame
Jacqui
