Re D.B. Barton's material I think others on this list would be
interested to learn if progress is made on this matter

Dear Martin,
He retired to Guernsey in about 1980, and died there (I believe) c.1995.
Beyond that I don't know, but suggest you try the Priaulx Library in
Guernsey. You might also try the Guernsey Archives too.

I am trying to track down the archives of D B Barton, mainly to get
copies of his photos of Irish mines as published in Dickie Bird's 1974
book on "Britains Old Metal Mines" (the Irish photos where supplied by
Barton).
Dickie thinks that Barton emigrated to South Africa but Michael
Messenger on this list in 2002 said that he went to the Channel Islands.
Does anyone have knowledge of his whereabouts or his archive?
Martin
