Geophysicist (fixed term, 4 years), University of Southampton.
We seek to appoint a post-doctoral scientist with a proven publication record to work on a number of projects within the marine geology and geophysics group at the National Oceanography Centre Southampton.
We are particularly looking for someone with skills in wide-angle seismology and reflection seismology, but will consider applicants from all fields of seismology. The applicant would initially work on data sets relating to the multi-institutional Sumatran consortium project. While the appointee would be expected to focus on research, the role will involve contributing to undergraduate and graduate teaching, particularly related to geophysical fieldwork and computational geophysics, as well as being willing to get involved in wider group activities. The post is available for immediate start.
Please contact Professor Jon Bull (02380 593 078; [log in to unmask]) or Professor Tim Minshull 02380 596 569; [log in to unmask]) for further enquiries.
