Dear all,
Just I want to know a silly question. I have done the XRF analysis of
rock and got the wt% of different oxides including Fe2O3. Now I am
trying to convert the Fe2O3 to FeO using the conversion factor
(0.8998* Fe203). But by using this conversion factor the total amount
of iron is decreased in the sample. For Example, when Fe2O3 (= 9.47)
is converted into FeO(= 8.52) by multiplying conversion factor
(0.8998), the total amount of iron in the analysis is decreased by
0.95. Is this process is correct. If not then please guide me to get
the correct way to convert Fe2O3 to FeO.
With Warm Regards,
Pradeep Das
