It's likely your independent components were indeed registered to the 2mm
MNI152 template. However, I think you'll find they were then downsampled to a
lower voxel resolution (perhaps 4mm)? This is done (1) to save time and memory
when doing ICA and (2) because functional data is usually acquired at a lower
resolution than anatomical data anyway, so you're not really losing any
information by doing this. Now you want to look at your independent components
on top of the 2mm MNI152 template using fslview, but you can't because they're
sampled at a different resolution.
Assuming your data really was resampled to the MNI152 template before
downsampling, all you have to do is upsample like this:
flirt -ref MNI152_T1_2mm_brain -in my_components_lowres -out my_components_2mm
-applyxfm
fslview MNI152_T1_2mm_brain my_components_2mm -l "Red-Yellow"
