The Volunteering for Shropshire’s Heritage project is a 3 year partnership project between Shropshire Archives and Shropshire Museums Service, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Over 250 volunteers will work on museum and archive collections to improve their accessibility, including a programme of conservation, cataloguing, research and publications. Volunteers will be based in Shrewsbury and Ludlow.

Project Manager, £24,646 per annum, 3 year fixed term contract
The project manager will work with project partners to plan, deliver and manage the objectives of the project. You will be responsible for ensuring that all the project targets are met.
You will have a degree or equivalent qualification, and experience of managing projects including budgets and staff. A qualification in archive administration, librarianship, museum studies is desirable, but a knowledge and interest in Shropshire’s outstanding heritage is essential, as are good IT skills.

These posts will supervise and support volunteers working on the project.
You will have 5 GCSEs and one A level or equivalent qualifications, and experience of working with volunteers. Experience of museum and/or archive cataloguing and/or conservation is also essential, as is a knowledge and interest in Shropshire’s outstanding heritage and good IT skills.
