A powder for a cough
a quarter pound of whit sugar candy
an ounce of liquorish
an ounce of anniseed
a drame of rubarb
half an ounce of ground ivey
all made generally in to a very fin powder and then mixed and given to a man or woman as much as will lye on halfe a crown in ground ivey posset drink morning and evening, for a child as much as will lye on a large sixpence is enough.
