Are your students aware of the benefits of joining the Royal Statistical Society? Help them to join now.
As part of our on-going recruitment drive, we are keen to promote the benefits of joining the Society to all students of statistics and to encourage them to become student members. As you will already know the Society provides a wide range of services, many of which will help students at the start of their careers in statistics. We are particularly keen to recruit those students who are in their second or third years of undergraduate study or are on masters or postgraduate programmes.
As someone who is actively interested in promoting the Society, I would be most grateful if you could send out the attached details to your students. We have prepared our flyer as a PDF file so that it can be circulated electronically or printed - it can also be downloaded from the RSS website at: http://www.rss.org.uk/student <http://www.rss.org.uk/student> . It would be particularly helpful if you could add a few words of your own outlining the benefits of belonging to the RSS.
You may also wish to print off a few copies yourself and make them available in your department/student common room - or if possible, give them directly to your students at the start or end of a lecture. Please do let me know if you would like me to send you some hard copies in due course.
I would be most grateful if you can help the Society in this way - or indeed if you feel there is a more appropriate colleague within your department, please do let me have their contact details (preferably an email address).
It is only £12 per annum, or £30 for three years, to join as a Student member, or free to those final year students on accredited courses (See http://www.rss.org.uk/site/cms/contentCategoryView.asp?category=134 <http://www.rss.org.uk/site/cms/contentCategoryView.asp?category=134> ). Please help us achieve our aim of promoting the discipline by actively encouraging your students to join up now.
My sincere thanks once again for your help in promoting the Society. If you require further information or assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
