The Department of Earth and Space Sciences at the University of
Washington invites applications for a full-time (100% FTE) 9-month
tenure-track faculty position in the area of crustal materials. The
successful candidate will have expertise in the theoretical,
experimental or observational study of crustal materials. We encourage
applicants with interests in integrating chemical/physical understanding
with quantitative models of crust dynamics, surface processes and field
geology. Collaboration with current departmental research is desirable.
Faculty members are expected to develop their own independent,
externally funded research program and participate in departmental
research, undergraduate and graduate teaching and independent research,
and service.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in geology/earth sciences or a closely
related field at the time of appointment. It is anticipated the
position will be filled at the Assistant Professor level.
