The Neuroscience Research Partnership is funded by the Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore's lead government agency dedicated to fostering world-class scientific research. In partnership with the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, the NRP research activities span molecular and cellular neurobiology, developmental neuroscience, neurodegeneration and other neurological disorders, and cognitive neuroscience. The NRP provides access to state-of-the-art scientific facilities and infrastructure, and offers a vibrant and innovative environment to foster world-class research.
The multidisciplinary Laboratory of Multimodal Neuroimaging in Neuropsychiatric Disorders is led by Principle Investigator, Dr. Juan (Helen) Zhou, located at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Neuroscience and Behavioral Disorders Program, Singapore. It is supported by the Neuroscience Research Partnership between Duke-NUS and A&STAR, Singapore. Using multimodal neuroimaging techniques (fMRI/DTI/EEG), our lab focuses on: (1) developing computational intelligence methods to integrate longitudinal multimodal neuroimaging data; and (2) applying these methods to study healthy human brain organization underlying social-emotion/cognitive/memory functions and vulnerability patterns in neuropsychiatric disorders. Our ultimate goal is to investigate the interactions among network dynamics, behaviors, diseases, and genotypes in order to explore non-invasive biomarkers for behavior prediction, differential diagnosis, and treatment design.
You will support the effort in conducting cutting-edge neuroscience research and development. You will be primarily engaged in designing and programming experiments, conducting fMRI scans, EEG, and behavioral experiments, analyzing data, and general lab management. You are expected to learn new techniques and assist researchers in various research projects.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree with honours or master’s degree in one of the following domains: biological sciences, biomedical sciences, psychological sciences or related fields. Applicants with a degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or statistics who demonstrate a systemic perspective and who express an interest in cognitive neuroscience research will receive due consideration.
• The applicant should have excellent written, oral communication, and computer skills
• Prior programming experience (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C, etc.) is a plus
• Seek organized, reliable, self-motivated individual who is able to work effectively with others and multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key attractions are access to a 3T Tim Trio MR scanner and a MR compatible digital EEG system as well as collaboration opportunities with an excellent network of domestic and international scientists and doctors. Recruitment will be done on a rolling basis. Salary and benefits are competitive and will depend on qualifications and work experience. This is a great opportunity for those wishing to obtain additional clinical and research experience before applying to graduate or medical school.
Interested applicants are welcome to email Dr. Zhou at [log in to unmask] with the application letter, curriculum vitae, two references, and contact information.
