The University of Bristol is seeking to appoint a Director of Foreign

Language Centre and School of Modern Languages.
You will be required to line-manage and coordinate a group of seven
directors of individual languages or language-teaching specialisms
(translation, technology-enhanced learning), and will lead both
operationally, in ensuring maximally efficient delivery of a large-scale,
university-wide teaching operation, and strategically, in providing
coherence of purpose across all language-teaching areas, and raising the
profile of foreign language teaching both within the University and beyond.
You will have substantial experience of leadership and management of
language programmes and professionals in the HE Sector and native or near
native competence and considerable teaching experience in a relevant
language. You will also have extensive knowledge of recent developments in
the field of language teaching/applied language, in which you may well have
a record of publication.
