Salary progression beyond this range is subject to performance
The Division of Stroke requires a medical statistician to support Divisional trials including the international MRC ENOS phase III clinical trial (see: www.enos.ac.uk) and national BHF TARDIS phase III trial (see: www.tardistrial.org/) and TSA/AS PODCAST phase III trial (See: www.podcast-trial.org/). There will be the opportunity to collaborate in methodological research and study design, as well as supporting other researchers within the Division with their statistical analyses. The successful candidate will play an important role in the departments’ research activities, including the design of trials, oversight of trial processes, analysing and reporting of trials, and meta analyses. Candidates may wish to register for a PhD/MPhil. Motivated by real clinical trial data, the PhD/MPhil project would involve the exploration, development and implementation of appropriate statistical methods for analysing trials assessing the treatment and prevention of stroke. The project would focus on the ordinal analysis of stroke and vascular event data and encompass sample size estimation and time to event analyses.
