Albarn approached Dee with the idea of collaborating on an opera, and Moore
suggested Dee as subject. Moore then dropped out of the project as he didn't
feel that Albarn was holding up his end of the work. Albarn seems to have
continued with Dee as subject. The opera concentrates on the relationships
between Dee and Kelley and their wives, and I suspect that this wouldn't
have been the case in Moore's abandoned version - perhaps you could clarify
that for me? But Moore hasn't suggested that Albarn has lifted anything, and
Moore isn't generally reticent in making such accusations.

I must thoroughly admit my confusion on reading the article on the Telegraph
from June about Albarn's opera on the life of Dee. In the recently published
Strange Attractor 4, Alan Moore offered his notes for this project (a
collaberation, in Manchester, with Albarn, on an opera about the life of
Dee) but prefaces the article with the statement that the project was
abandoned.
Is it possible that Albarn has just lifted this idea from Moore, fully
uncredited?
Any further information about this would be highly appreciated.
