Dear Psci-com,

We are glad to be able to offer a third round of Enrichment and Enhancement grants for Mathematics teachers, details as below. Apologies for cross posting.

The Royal Institution of Great Britain
Grants for schools for mathematics enrichment activity

Do you teach mathematics to primary or secondary aged pupils?

Would you like to organise enrichment and enhancement activities to raise the profile and enjoyment of mathematics in your school?

The Ri E&E grants scheme will make 60 grants of up to 500 available to teachers of mathematics to choose activities from the STEM Directories (www.stemdirectories.org.uk) in the 2011 calendar year.

An exciting opportunity to initiate mathematics enrichment and enhancement (E&E) activities in their schools and help integrate E&E into their curricular practice. We welcome applications from all schools, with preference being given to state-funded schools that have not had external mathematics enrichment activities in the past two years.

Grants of up to 500 and guidance on choosing activities listed in the online STEM Directories (www.stemdirectories.org.uk) are being offered by the Royal Institution (Ri, www.rigb.org), funded by The Clothworkers' Foundation. The scheme is designed to raise awareness and use of enrichment activities and to support your professional development, whilst enhancing the mathematical experience in your school.

There are a limited number of grants and these will be allocated at three stages. The deadline for applications is as follows.

Round 1: Friday, 18 February, 2011
Round 2: Friday, 27 May, 2011
Round 3: Friday, 16 September, 2011

Summary
What is being offered:
. Grants of up to 500 for a mathematics E&E activity for your school in 2010-2011, to be chosen from those listed at www.stemdirectories.org.uk .
. Consultancy and support on the choice of activities during the application process, and on fostering related good practice.

In exchange you will be expected to:
. Provide feedback on the delivered activity and this project.
. Engage in how learning from the experience can inform and be sustained in your and your school's teaching.

Details on how to apply, grant entitlements and expectations, are available by emailing [log in to unmask]

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
In addition to the Royal Institution Enrichment and Enhancement Grants for Mathematics activities selected from the STEM Directories, you might also be interested in the following opportunity that has arisen on the STEM Directories itself.

The STEM Directories are currently offering every school who fills in the STEM Directories Evaluation survey (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VJYTLVL) the chance to win 500 toward the cost of an enrichment activity from the directories. Activity providers can also complete the form and nominate a school to receive the prize.

Naturally, any feedback given is completely anonymous and it will help to improve the STEM Directories for future users.
