I had a Stockholmer friend who could differentiate between London accents
- east, south and then a rather generalised "north", which was more "not
south and not east london"
This was with a limited time spent here
I found it quite disturbing the way she could place people *or express
confusion, which usually reflected their peripatetic existences
I was categorised within minutes as a south londoner -- and many Brits
"accuse me" of speaking "posh" i.e. I say all my syllables proper in order
to be able to write verse with some music to it
In some places you can guess at origin from syntax.
