Dear all,
This post offers an excellent opportunity for a graduate with a social science or public health background and training and experience in qualitative research to contribute to a Chief Scientist Office funded project, while gaining postgraduate research experience in the Institute for Applied Health Research/ School of Health at Glasgow Caledonian University.
The successful applicant will work with Dr Karen Lorimer (GCU) and Dr Lisa McDaid (MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit) on a project exploring the feasibility of an Internet-based approach to screening young heterosexual men for the sexually transmitted infection Chlamydia trachomatis. The project will inform the subsequent design of an Internet-based approach to chlamydia screening, and thus constitutes the formative stage of the development of an intervention. The post holder will be required to negotiate access to various community settings (e.g., workplace, health and fitness, education) to recruit young men (16-24 years) to focus group discussions, to conduct discussions and perform qualitative analysis on the data collected. The post may also require conducting telephone interviews with general practitioners and practice nurses.
The post is 0.8 FTE fixed-term for 9 months; closing date is 19th July and interviews will be held on the 9th Aug. More info available here: http://www.gcu.ac.uk/jobs/vacancies/HR1236-Researcher1B.html
I would be grateful if you could pass this information on to potentially interested parties.
Thank you for your help!
BW,
Karen
