Apologies for cross posting...
Liverpool University Press is delighted to announce that it will be publishing the journal Extrapolation from 2012.
Extrapolation (ISSN 0014-5483) was founded in 1959 by Thomas D. Clareson and was the first journal to publish academic work on science fiction and fantasy. It continues to be a leading, peer-reviewed, international journal in that specialized genre in the literature of popular culture.
It welcomes papers on all areas of speculative culture, including print, film, television, comic books and video games.
Founded in 1899, Liverpool University Press (LUP) has a strong track record of producing distinguished scholarly publications. Relaunched and refocused in 2004, the Press has undergone a period of unprecedented growth, book publishing has doubled; journals publishing has tripled.
Anthony Cond, Managing Director of LUP, said “Liverpool University Press is delighted to begin a partnership with the esteemed SF journal Extrapolation. As a world-renowned publisher of Science Fiction criticism and a publisher of journals for more than 100 years, LUP is well placed to work with the journal’s editor and editorial board as Extrapolation enters a new phase in its long and distinguished history.”
Extrapolation will be published (in print and electronic form) three times a year. Online access will be made available to all institutional and individual subscribers via the Metapress platform.
