Maney Publishing is pleased to announce impressive increases in many of its journals' impact factors following publication of the 2010 Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
The results released recently demonstrate an overall increase of 13%, well above the generalised average. Total citations have also increased, indicating that the content of Maney's journals is valued by researchers for many years after publication. Notable advances have been made by International Materials Reviews (IMR), Neurological Research, Powder Metallurgy, Survey Review, and Science and Technology of Welding and Joining. IMR, published by Maney for the Institute of Materials, Minerals, and Mining (IOM3) and the American Society of Materials (ASM International) now has an impact factor of 5.75. The impact factor of the Transactions of the Institute of Metal Finishing has increased from 0.55 to 1.62 in two years.
Mark Simon, Publishing Director at Maney, appreciates this year's results which reinforce Maney's commitment to high-quality research of international interest and application. "There is a fundamental recognition of the scientific contribution of Maney authors, and of the scholarly and scientific societies for which we publish. Maney will continue to strive for exemplary peer review, fast publication and global dissemination."
In the last year, Thomson Reuters has accepted eight Maney journals for inclusion in its databases. Humanities titles such as Industrial Archaeology Review, Journal of the British Archaeological Association and Names: A Journal of Onomastics are now included in the Thomson Reuters (ISI) Web of Knowledge Ambix: Journal of the Society for the History of Alchemy and Chemistry, which is already available through the humanities indices, has also been included in the Science Citation Index.
Liz Rosindale, Humanities Publishing Manager at Maney, was delighted at the news: "The inclusion of these journals in ISI and the extension of the services covering Ambix is testament to the high editorial standards which ensure the journals are widely read and cited around the world.
