A postdoctoral fellowship position is currently available in Dr. Calhounās laboratory (see http://mialab.mrn.org) at The Mind Research Network (MRN) and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Mexico. The MRN houses a dedicated Siemens TIM Trio 3T MRI scanner and a 1.5T Mobile MRI scanner in addition to MEG, EEG, and a genetics lab. This position will focus on the development and application of statistical signal/image processing techniques and software for brain imaging data (e.g. functional MRI, diffusion tensor imaging, structural MRI) and genome-wide genetic and epigenetic data of psychiatric patients. Of particular focus will be developing algorithms based upon the incorporation of prior information (neuroanatomical, functional, biological, etc.) within a source separation framework (independent component analysis, canonical correlation analysis, etc). The ideal candidate will have experience with image/signal processing and/or statistics, will be eager to learn about brain imaging, and is looking for an opportunity in a richly interdisciplinary research center. In addition to working on ongoing projects it is expected that the individual will pursue his/her own research interests. Our ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related field. Prior expertise in brain image analysis preferred, but not required. Visit mrn.org and click on Jobs to apply.
