Invitation from ARA Scotland to the Archives and Records Association Conference
Edinburgh, 31 Aug - 2 Sep 2011
We're delighted to invite you to the conference in the 'Athens of the North', Edinburgh! The conference is in the magical city of Edinburgh at a time of year when the buzz of the festival shows the city at its best. The hotel is at the heart of the city and will provide us with the welcome that Edinburgh is known for.
Conference this year has the theme of Advocacy, something many of us wish we could do effectively. Whether you're making a case to your employers or funders, working with communities or needing to know how to make an impact in the current economic climate there is something for everyone on the programme!
One of the things we also hope to share with you is some of the groundbreaking work that has been going on in Scotland including that on the Public Records Bill and exciting projects being run by the Scottish Council on Archives on retention scheduling, quality assessment and economic impact of archives and records. We'd also like to highlight some of the fabulous collections held in Scotland that show you more about Scottish life, culture and record keeping.
ARA members in Scotland will be attending the conference so look out for us and ask us about our work and projects, collections, RM systems, conservation expertise and what's happening here!
For further details and how to book, see http://www.archives.org.uk/
We look forward to seeing you!
