Following the success of our IM workshop in April, we would like to invite you to attend our forthcoming two-day workshop on Towards Total Information Management: How to Ensure Success for your New Information Management System in October.
Because of the hands-on, interactive nature of the workshop there are only 25 places available. If you or any of your colleagues would like to attend, please book as soon as possible by following this link:

The workshop is aimed at senior and mid-level IT and information managers who are implementing a new information management system. It will provide an end-to-end picture of the steps required to prepare, architect, plan, resource, implement and migrate content from existing repositories (shared drives, e-mail systems, document management systems, etc) to the new system which supports findability, collaboration and content lifecycle management. Such a system might be for document or records management, collaboration, or might be a new intranet, extranet or internet site. The principles will apply to any technical environment, but practical examples will be drawn primarily from use of SharePoint.
The two days are designed to be extremely practical and will be illustrated with examples throughout. Break out sessions will allow the sharing of knowledge and experience between delegates and workshop leaders. The following will be examined in detail:
* Get to grips with the information you create and develop a strategy to manage it over its lifecycle
* Introduce principles and policies relating to its ongoing management and ensure the involvement of staff at all levels
* Create an organisation-wide fileplan for all your information which supports browsing, sharing and management of content
* Implement a content migration strategy that ensures the right content is moved across to the right place and understand what to do with the content that isn't being migrated
* Ensure there is no gap in continuity by undertaking staff training to coincide with the migration and go-live
Led by Marc Stephenson and Judi Vernau from Metataxis, this is a sample of what previous delegates have to say:
~ 'Facilitators were excellent - engaging and knowledgeable. An excellent workshop and I would attend future workshops.' Deputy Information Manager, Rotherham, Doncaster & Sth Humber NHS Fndtn Trust
~ 'Covered a lot of ground in the right amount of detail. Definitely worthwhile.' Senior Document and Records Manager, Leeds City Council
Cost to attend the two-day workshop is £680 + VAT per delegate at the residential rate (includes workshop fee, dinner, bed and breakfast for one night) or workshop only at £580 + VAT per delegate. Space is strictly limited to 25 delegates and places are going fast. For more information please contact me on 0161 374 0372, or follow the link:
