I would also have trouble aligning myself with any organisation whose acronym cannot be spoken aloud.

Some of us remember how difficult it was, and how much work some
people contributed to establishing MECCSA as a single body covering
the broad field.
I sincerely hope that influence can be brought to bear on those
attempting to organise BAFTSS, to persuade them to support the work of
MECCSA instead.
Times are hard enough without allowing circumstances to divide us.
