Joining together the two meetings last week for what are called information professionals, it is the case that this list is itself part of the history for which I'm making the #disKUvery case, and I don’t know enough about the history of this list.
I remember JUGL, and the Janet London group which I chaired, and the meetings in Abingdon, and I was a participant in getting from the colour books to TCP/IP, on which I suspect there will never be an history. At some stage in this I was also chairing the national forum on information planning, which has a jiscmail list still.
But if someone can tell me some lis-link background, that would be most useful. I know I can check the archive, but when mailbase became jiscmail the public archive was destroyed.
Or so I am told.
