Part-Time Research Assistant (up to 17.5 hours a week, Cardiff) - Not expected to appoint above £24,370
Applications are invited for three research positions (available from October 2011) on a new BBSRC funded project entitled "Differentiating the contributions of domain-specific regions within the medial temporal lobe and extrastriate cortex to perception". This innovative neuroimaging research programme, led by Prof Kim Graham (Cardiff University), Prof Paul Downing (Bangor University) and Dr Matt Mundy (Monash University), involves understanding how regions in the visual ventral stream, in particular the extrastriate cortex and medial temporal lobe, represent faces, scenes, bodies and objects.
Applicants for the postdoctoral research associate positions should have a PhD in a relevant area, experience with designing, conducting and analysing fMRI experiments, good programming skills in at least one language, and a strong background in behavioural statistics.
Applicants for the part-time research assistant post should have a degree in experimental psychology or cognitive neuroscience, experience with Eprime, Matlab or another experimental package, good statistics knowledge and experience with running and analysing behavioural experiments.
