Dear Colleagues,

As we are now winding up the funded part of the 'After the Wall'
Network, we are thinking of ways forward, and would like to gauge
interest in further activities.

1) At the conference last September, many people expressed interest in
the continuation of the workshops - perhaps on an annual basis, and
rotating around different institutions. Would anyone be interested in
holding a workshop in 2012? (For those who were unable to attend the
previous workshops, please see details at:
http://afterthewall.bangor.ac.uk/events.php?menu=1&catid=7529&subid=0 )

2) If more ambitious activities are to be co-ordinated, then funding is
obviously necessary. Together with a few other Networks/Groups, there
may be the possibility of putting in a larger bid to examine the broader
context of memory and dictatorship (and/or memory and socialism). If you
and/or a research group you are involved in may be interested, please do
let us know.

On a different note, the Network website has expanded further (to be
completed by the end of the summer) to include a much larger collection
of links and secondary materials relating to memory of the GDR. These
may be of interest to those of you teaching the GDR. Please have a look
at: http://afterthewall.bangor.ac.uk/links.php?menu=7&catid=7535&subid=0
- and do let us know if you want to see material added.

Best wishes,
Anna and Debbie
