Dear all,
There have been instances reported of third party organisations requesting HESA data for use in their own analyses, e.g. league tables, where the requests themselves have been so poorly defined that the resulting outputs from HESA were totally inaccurate and misleading.
This has required major effort on the part of institutions to sort out when being reviewed with HESA, or worse, having to deal with fall out when results are published. The THE world rankings are an example.
The National Planners Grou will be raising with HESA the issue of the extra burden falling on HEIs because of poorly defined data requests to HESA.
Please send any comments or experience you may have on this issue to me, or post on to the mailbase.
Best wishes,
Lucy Hodson
