Point of interest here re aluminium.
The Oldham DL 16 LED lamp has a cast nickel heat conductor set into the
headset and possibly accounts for the high price of these lamps. Obviously
aluminium would do the job better but the lamp would not then meet the
required coal mine safety standards.

The use of aluminium was banned in the UK after an explosion at
Glyncorrwg Colliery, on 13 January 1954, was found to have been
propagated by an aluminium borer falling onto a rusty iron plate and
causing a spark. I've seen this demonstrated by the Safety in Mines
Research Establishment and it makes a very impressive spark.
