Because the Vancouver system is so disruptive to reading!!! when you read a modified harvard you can see the references and if you recognise them don't need to go looking for them. if you do not recognise them then you know which ones to follow up.

Hi
I am just wondering with a foot in each camp medical research and midwifery research why do midwifery university courses and journals insist on the APA style of referencing? Compared to the medical style, vancouver, it is difficult to master, disrupts the flow of my reading in articles and even comes out wrong using the endnote program.

If you have any specific evidence or information on this topic, it would be much appreciated. It is my understanding that there has been little work to date on the cost savings of MLC. We know that MLC reduces intervention, therefore should it not follow that MLC is cheaper.
