Everyone has their own favourite way of gathering intelligence about their online users, whether through surveys; interviews; focus groups; user observation; web statistics... But are we clear about the questions we are trying to answer? How do we know whether what we do will actually translate into meaningful information to progress our organisation's objectives? This course provides an introduction to planning and implementing research into online audiences, using a tool for planning coordinated research and plenty of case studies to explore the various techniques available.
Trainer/s: Martin Bazley is Director of Martin Bazley & Associates providing consultancy, digital production, testing and evaluation, and staff training for the museum, heritage and educational sectors. Martin is Vice-Chair of the Digital Learning Network, previously known as the E-Learning Group for Museums, Libraries and Archives. He worked for 8 years in the Learning Unit at the Science Museum, London developing innovative online projects.
