GIS Specialist (Oil&Gas) - London - £Neg - 9 Months
The main tasks will be compilation and display of subsurface data using a variety of platforms such as mapping packages, both 2D and 3D; log display packages; log manipulation and creation of maps and other visualisation products with packages such as Arc view. Supporting the upcoming functional reviews with preparation of presentation material may also be important.
Another part of the role will be maintaining and updating the databases between the Middle East Offices.
In addition, they may be an opportunity to train and coach team members and people from Midlde East Offices as part the project ramps up people to support development and production
The Specialist will be accountable to the sub surface team leader and the senior geoscientist for
- Data searches - digital well log and other types of data from various sources
- Formatting and loading data to Open Works projects
- Manipulating and creating log plots for use by the team
- Provide maintenance of Open Works data base for the team
- Creation of maps and 3D visualisation images
- Assist with data loading
- Creation of map products using ARC GIS
- Generation of presentation material
- A degree in a relevant subsurface discipline
- Competence in use of openworks
- Competence is use of Microsoft office
- Competence in data management
- Use of Arc view GIS or related packages
- Use of Canvas or another similar package
- Use of seisworks or other related packages
- ZMap
