Dear collegues,
I am looking for publications on the matter of charcoals conservation in sandy soils, especially coastal sand dunes, OR general conservation issues for charcoals in tropical regions. I work on New Caledonia charcoal macro remains with the local Institute of Archaeology and they have been observing a reduction in the amount of charcoals deposited, even within fire place structures such as ovens and hearths, related to the increasing age of the deposits, which in our areas does not expand beyond 3000 BP.
Do you have any references to suggest or experience to share on this?
Thank you for your help,
