Salary Package: Level B-D ($77,455 - $119,586) plus 17% superannuation
Position Overview: The School of Sociology wishes to appoint two academics with expertise in the sociology of crime, deviance and/or risk. Appointments will be at the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor level subject to the experience of successful candidates. The School is particularly interested in applicants with interests in youth, risky consumption behaviours or environmental and industrial hazards and with a capacity to communicate their research to relevant public sector, industry and community groups.
The School of Sociology is a research-intensive centre for applied and theoretical inquiry and education. Staff work across a variety of areas with concentrations of expertise in environmental sociology, embodiment and health, gender, crime, risk, inequality and identity. The School hosts the ANU Centre for Gambling Research, the National Institute for Rural and Regional Australia and the CRC for Energy Pipelines.
It is expected that all appointments will make a significant contribution to the School’s education, research and outreach programs. You will be expected to deliver at least one course into the Sociology Undergraduate Program, to contribute to the development of Sociology Master’s Programs and to supervise Higher Degree Research students.
