The University of Glamorgan’s Business School is a vibrant and dynamic place to study and provides a wide range of flexible courses that offer a real return on investment. Glamorgan Business School is committed to providing a positive experience for all its students, whether they are studying full-time or part-time. Consequently social innovation, enterprise, applied business research and knowledge transfer are part of the ethos shared by all staff at Glamorgan Business School.
With continuing strong demand nationally and internationally for our logistics and supply chain research, knowledge transfer and programmes, particularly at masters and professional levels, we are seeking to appoint a professor to join our Purchasing and Supply team. The particular emphasis for this post will be to lead research and knowledge transfer in the area to support the expansion of our provision and to ensure its currency in both national and international markets.
The successful candidate will be joining a highly dynamic subject area that reflects 21st Century teaching and learning practice which is based upon considerable academic and commercial experience. A key emphasis of the subject area is therefore the practical application of academic thinking, both in our research and our curriculum development activities. The subject area is a Centre of Excellence for the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and has held this accreditation for many years. More recently it has received accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).
The person appointed will provide research leadership to build a sustainable international reputation for our research in this area and ensure it underpins successful curriculum and business development. The person will be required to teach our students particularly at postgraduate level at home and abroad. Moreover, they will help maintain the high academic standards set within the Faculty (and by the relevant professional statutory bodies) in terms of research supervision and be able to generate external funding through successful research grant applications and consultancy.
