Leader of Core Facility for Brain Imaging in Aachen Germany
The Core Facility "Brain Imaging" at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Clinical
Research (IZKF-Aachen) of the RWTH Aachen University, Germany, is seeking for a new technical and operative leader (1.0 TVL 14 for 3 years). We are looking for a researcher at the postdoctoral level with a strong background in imaging neuroscience. The position requires training in cognitive neuroscience, computer sciences or related areas as well as experience in functional imaging data analysis (e.g. SPM5/8) and in designing fMRI experiments.
The successful candidate will not only coordinate and supervise the interdisciplinary team in cooperation with the methodical leader of the Core Facility but also develop own research ideas and projects. The Core Facility supports researchers from the medical faculty and affiliated institutes in conducting brain imaging research projects. It hosts a large computing facility, offers single and group trainings and carries out the MRI acquisitions. Beside these support tasks the member will have access to one 3T and two 1.5T Philips Achieva and a 3T Siemens Trio MR scanners. Multimodal approaches encompassing PET, PET-CT, MEG, TMS or tDCS are encouraged. Own research projects are required and a progress toward habilitation is possible.
The appointment will be for 3 years with an opportunity of prolongation for another 3 years. The position has to be filled 1st July 2011 or as soon as possible thereafter.
