We have lots of things at RAL which would work in slow motion. Our materials testing lab can be used to test the tensile strength of metals until they go snap - that would look good. We also do lots of cryogenic work - plenty of very cold things look interesting in slow mo, e.g. magnets levitating above high temperature superconductors (although they look pretty good in real time too).
