Dori,
I'm a little dense or thinking too hard, or both.
Could you help us (me) find / think about the answers for these questions?
Core77 states entry fees as
$150 -Professional
$50 - Student
$40 - DIY
Is an entry in the Design Education Initiatives ALWAYS a professional entry
since faculty members develop projects, courses and curricula?
Or can a student submit student work in the Design Education Initiatives category
as a demonstration of an OUTCOME of a project, a course or a curriculum?
I'm clear that, hypothetically, the design of a piece of furniture by a student while made in school would most logically be submitted as a student entry in the Furniture/Lighting category.
What about this scenario: a graduate student submits a graduate thesis (scholarly inquiry) with a research question that does not fit any of the more 'market driven' categories. Does this fit in the Design Education Initiatives category? Does the student submit the thesis as student work? Or does the faculty member submit the thesis to represent a project or a course or curriculum? Are both allowable? Or do we just submit the work and let Core77 and judges decide where best evaluate the work?
