Dear All Molecular-Collision-Dynamics-Loving Physical Chemists
Greetings from Boulder! We are just writing as your conference chair
and co-chair to keep you alert to the upcoming early registration
deadline (May 15, this Sunday) for the 2011 Dynamics of Molecular
Collisions meeting, to be held in Snowbird, UT July 10-15. We have an
absolutely terrific line up of speakers (see below), but Snowbird has
limited the number of rooms we could reserve for the meeting - so get
your registration in right away!. http://dynamicsofmolecularcollision.org/2011/
Also - each of the 10 sessions will have one "hot topic" contributed
talk, to be selected from all the poster abstracts that have been
sent in by young scientists (e.g., grad students, postdocs, young
faculty members) and wanting to be considered. This is a great
opportunity to get some high profile air time for your research at a
major international meeting! You need to get your registration and
contributed abstract in to my assistant Gabrielle Fuentes
([log in to unmask]) or else we can't consider it with the rest.
Confirmed speakers and session chairs:
-Yuan T. Lee (Academia Sinica)
-George Schatz (Northwestern)

More good news - even in a congressional nightmare of a fiscal year,
it looks like we have been successful in getting funds from DOE,
AFOSR, the major pchem journals as well as several laser companies.
So we should be in good shape for providing some conference support
for session chairs, invited and "hot topics" speakers, and poster
competition winners.
The venue at Snowbird is absolutely spectacular and the list of
speakers and topics is first rate. In addition, there will be the
third biannual Herschbach award symposium, with this years recipients
being none other than Yuan Lee and George Schatz!!! So Thursday night
after the banquet will be dedicated to 50 minute talks from each of
these scientific giants. (Tuesday lunch and afternoon will also be
used to host a Y. T. Lee reunion - see the DMC website
http://dynamicsofmolecularcollision.org/2011/ and get in touch with
Arthur Suits for any detailed questions) This is definitely going to
be a "premiere" pchem event of the summer.
So get your website registration in by May 15 (that is this Sunday!)
at the "early-barrier" rate of $250/person, and follow up immediately
by contacting Snowbird for the package accommodation to reserve your
space at the meeting.
Looking forward to seeing you all in the cool mountain air in
Snowbird this July!
Cheers,
David Nesbitt (conference chair)
Hua Guo (conference co-chair)
P.S. After May 15, you can still register, but the "non-early"
registration fee goes up to $300/person. The accommodation package
prices will remain the same till the total number of spaces fill up
(which is likely) - see the website for pricing details.
