'Cosmopolitanism, Media & Global Crisis'
4 June 2011
Kingston University / Penrhyn Road Campus
Dear Colleagues,
Registration is now open for this international one-day conference, which will explore the relationship between cosmopolitanism and media in an increasingly fragmented, globalising world. A central focus of the conference is the potential role of the media in providing a cosmopolitanist outlook to their audiences, encouraging or discouraging cosmopolitan identifications, especially when engaging with global crises and disasters. The keynote will be delivered by Professor Lilie Chouliaraki and is entitled 'Post-humanitarianism: the contemporary politics of cosmopolitan solidarity.'
Full conference program and booking details are available at: http://fass.kingston.ac.uk/activities/item.php?updatenum=1418
We look forward to seeing you all there.
