‘D’Implacato Desio Furor Mi Strinse’: Desire in Modern Italian Literature
This session examines the representation of desire in modern and
contemporary Italian literature. How does the text disclose the mechanism
of desire? How do authors construct the notion of desire? What do desires
reveal about the identity of the desirer and/or the social group to which
he or she belongs? How is the representation of desire affected by gender?
Please send abstracts of no more than 300 words to Elena Borelli, Rutgers
