italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
The Renaissance Boethius
This panel seeks to explore the reception of Boethius's De consolatione
philosophiae in Renaissance Europe (1450-1600 ca.). Papers will ideally
focus on one or more of the following aspects: a) Boethius's fortuna; b)
any scholarly (exegetical work conducted on or inspired by the Consolatio;
c) any translation into the vernacular (encompassing critical, linguistic,
philological and historical problems). Please send a 150-word abstract and
a short CV to Dario Brancato ([log in to unmask]) by June 10. The
panel will be submitted to the Renaissance Society of America by June 15.
Participants should become members (or renew their membership) of the RSA
by August 2010.
