The ESRC Centre for Competition Policy has announced dates for its seventh annual summer conference. The international conference on ‘Consumers in Competition Policy’ takes place on June 16 and 17 in the UEA drama studio in Norwich.
Consumers have traditionally been seen as the main beneficiaries of antitrust policy, and they are being increasingly identified as important active participants. The conference explores theory and evidence on how consumers behave in markets, how firms respond and the implications for antitrust policy, with an emphasis on natural experiments and sector studies.
Academics from the US, Europe and UK will come together to present their work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
CCP members Catherine Ball, Michael Harker, Judith Mehta, Robert Sugden and Catherine Waddams will also present their recent research.
