'Web Analyst'
Reports to: User Experience Manager
Department: Online Development
Overall Purpose of Job
The User Experience team are looking for an ambitious Data Analyst who has an understanding of internet technology and what makes a great experience for visitors to our websites.
You will be involved in the user-centred design process, making recommendations to enhance user experience and conversion. You will also be responsible for measuring the success of changes to customer journeys and the acquisition of new customers.
You’ll also be expected to provide reports for senior management with an executive summary of key trends and traffic activities, commercial insights and recommendations for enhancements to user journeys.
You’ll be able to drive insight from data and improve experiences across the range of my clients websites. This is an opportunity to develop your experience in the dynamic, growing and in-demand field of Web Analytics
Responsibilities include:
Work alongside UX team members to identify opportunities to enhance & increase user interaction, usability and site conversions
Work with our online channels to help define their value and engagement metrics and reporting requirements
Analyse quantitative & qualitative web user data to measure site effectiveness, user behaviour & conversions
Formulate strategic thinking and data-driven recommendations by combining research, web metrics and transactional data to better understand online users
Make actionable recommendations based on analytical data driven findings
Deliver against the user experience strategy and metrics roadmap
Work with business teams to develop segmentation models
Present results to internal teams on a regular basis
Use multi-variate testing to optimise journeys and funnels
Essential Competencies:
Highly numerate with excellent communication skills
Logical and strategic thinking
Advanced excel with pivot tables and possibly VBA
Experience of creating clear, visually appealing and insightful executive level reports
Appreciation of user experience and research methodologies
Experience of Web Analytics tools such as Unica, Omniture, Coremetrics
Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Hyperion or Cognos
Strong relationship management skills
Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
Superb organisational skills
Education & Experience:
At least 2-3 years experience in analysis preferably with some exposure to and a very strong interest in Web Analytics
Bachelors/Masters degree in technology, statistics, science or other numeric discipline
