Dear Brian
Thank you for putting your paper on line. I find it is the act of doing (painting, creating) in that zone of 'flow', that allows the poet in me to step out.
"Like the painter, the poet can start out with an idea but the art form can almost take on a life of its own developing in new and unanticipated directions." I love this, I think this is the nature of the creative act, that what ever one is doing/creating can absolutely take a life of its own.Ii think the subconscious, or my inner soul is allowed (in the act), to untie knotted memories and sort them into colours and varying lengths and to create a bit of order in my busy head!
I have just bought Patricia Leavy's 'Method Meets Art', and i see there is a chapter in there on poetry and qualitative research. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but it explores poetry as a social research model and the whole issue of trustworthiness and validity.
Go well and happy writing to you.

Hello Shelley,
I was searching through my e-mails recently when I rediscovered you note about AR and poetry.
I was wondering how the project had progressed......
I've been thinking about poetry as a means of research.
Best wishes in your work
Brian

Dear Brian
I am doing so at present. My AR is an exploration of teacher creatvity, and I am presenting my own learning process through poetry. I have written a series of poems about meaning-making.
Regards
Shelley Tracey

Subject: AR using poetry
Dear Colleagues,
When I was in Oxford last week I met Dawd Lee who asked if I knew of any one who has written-up their AR in poetry.
Can anyone help ?
At the back of my mind I recall a previous conversation on-line about this......
I know Dawd has worked as a translator in societies without a written language but strong in poetic oral traditions.
Thanks
Brian
