Stephen,
I've casually studied over a period of at least 40 years the varied attitudes of artists based outside NYC towards the value of a NYC gallery show. So I wonder how you regard your forthcoming exhibition?
I would say that Ruth Braunstein's exhibition of your work in San Francisco strikes me as more prestigious because of the major figures she has shown and represented over a distinguished 50 year career as a gallerist. But I note within Jack Hanley's "stable" the artists Bill Owens and Erwin Wurm--perhaps he'll introduce your work to a different client base. And NYC writers will be able to see your haptics in person, perhaps for the first time. Hope it works out well for you.
