The software shows 3 postings at a time.
The site contains 347 poems, and various event notices and so forth!, but
you have to click on the navlinks at the top (above the poems, below the
menu bar) or use the sitemap or scrolling menu on the left to see them all.

Aha! excellent question.
Partly for personal reasons, because I was born in England and I don't
identify with the Australian landscape. An earlier version had something
like 'I am not a karri or a wandoo. I am an oak' but I took that out because
that was just me whining about having to live -- and write! -- in Australia,
and wasn't necessary to the poem.
Partly because I was feeling a bit Middle-Earth-ish, if you know what I
mean.
Possibly because I'm reading about Dylan Thomas.
But most importantly because the oaks and wolves bring in a whole lot of
connotations and symbolism that you just don't get with gumtrees and
kangaroos.
