I don't know whether lis-linkers have been involved in the research excellence framework at all, but we had a meeting here, where the matter of impact was outlined.
The person doing it put up some slides, but didn't appear to know the literature on what I would have called impact analysis, or the role of the library in building collections.
I have found this to be general over almost every (take out the almost) project I have done, people never seem to start with the known known, to use Rumsfeld.
There had just been a demo too, on Scopus, so now to scuttle off and see what Scopus offers.
There seem to me two known known matters, which tie into cuts and savings, and yes prime minister, there are alternatives, Big Society matters. The first is the chance to demonstrate what the library is for and how it is organised. The second is the alternative to e-only RIN approaches, and what joins these two is the role of faceted classification.
If there are other lis-linkers interested in these matters, I'm thinking of a publication for all the panel members who might not know this sort of thing.
Impact. See REFWork on twitter, though there might be others there already
I'll try it on Facebook too.
