Sorry don't have a video demo link for that but Jonathan Park from Iansyst demonstrated converting handwriting into a Word doc to us yesterday. I think it may just be the Live Scribe Echo pen which does this. Best contact Iansyst for further info.

You can find other videos on the You Tube link but don't know if there is a video showing that, sorry.

Thanks
Linsey

Really? I saw nothing in that really video that mentioned converting handwriting into a text in a word doc, just sharing handwritten notes (as image/pdf) and audio.

Could you point out the actual time on the video when this is demonstrated?

Ive used the Pulse quite extensively and never seen that feature.

Cheers

The Live Scribe pen can be used to convert handwriting to a Word document. You Tube video below shows how it can be used for notetaking in class but it can also be used to convert handwriting to Word doc.

This seems to do the job, but seems to be a propietary technology aimed at business, probably hideously expensive!

I stand totally corrected

Great link, Ian

Have I got this right? There are 3 algorithims - traditional OCR, myscript which needs a smart pen and..ICR?

"When the source is handwriting, this is known as ICR (Intelligent Character Recognition). These images contain no information about how the text was written, only a visual representation."

So, we need a thing that does ICR...

Also - just to clarify, Myscript works with digital input devices by recognising patterns of pen strokes, but it is not technically OCR software and won't read handwritten documents that have already been created, see:-
